I have been doing this every other night for a bit over a week and it is making a big difference almost all of them are healed up or mostly healed. I honestly do not know if there is any science behind it but it works at least for Callie. It takes two people because she is 18 pounds and you have to soak each paw for 2-5 minutes but its worth it. I used to wipe her paws every night with sensitive baby wipes and I'm thinking that it kept them moist and made things worse so I stopped doing that. I also gave her, her second shot of Cytopint (by myself) and she has not broken out all over her back like she used to in 2 months so things are looking good right now for Callie Mae.
We do a betadine (povidone iodine) and water foot soak for Bella each time we bathe her to control yeast (the "frito foot" smell) and her feet haven't smelled for years. We just squirt some betadine in a wash basin and add warm water until it's the color of dark iced tea, and stand her in it for several minutes while we're preparing for her bath.
