Default From the hospital....

On Tuesday I was just brushing Max. Spenser ,who loves the brush, reached to grab the wooden handle. His canine tooth pierced between the first and secon joint of the left pointer finger. A true accident. I washed the finger put on neosporum, and lastly a bandage. Wednesday morning the tip of the finger was sore and swollen, so I took off the bandage thinking it might be irritating the finger. The pierce spot could not be seen. By noon, my finger was swollen to the second joint, and by evening the third. Thursday morning I stopped at the care center nearby assuming I'd get an antibiotic and leave. Wrong. I was sent to the local medical center's ER. I was examined, xrayed ( the finger), two pick lines were put in, and IV begun. They put me in infectious disease, assigned a doctor and I write to you from there now. My finger and the hand to where the infection spread responded well to the IV antibiotics and I am expecting to go home tomorrow.

It all seems like such over-kill, but the infection spread like wild-fire. Please take care of any insults to the fingers. The doctor says they are the most seriou.

Cheers,
Gew
