Lucy has been the best little dog. After years of having only German Shepherds, you kinda get used to their dignified attitude. She has been a great companion to Griff, my old guy. He just turned 11 which is pretty old for a GSD, but Lucy seems to perk him up. You would think he would get annoyed with her antics, but mostly acts like a protective old Grampa. He also wants more attention. If she is getting love, he will push right through and take his turn, wether you want him to or not. So there is this manuever of dogs both trying to be petted at the same time. So very funny.

I was a bit concerned with how she would turn out, since she had such a bad start. I have talked to a gal that got two from this very same situation, and both of hers are afraid of men and possible fear biters. So very sad. But Lucy seems to have adjusted quite well. The weight does not really concern me (yet) since she started out so thin. She actually seems about right for her frame. At six pounds she was so skinny, you could feel her backbone and ribs. But now, she is all muscle. She is so full of energy and personality, and kisses. Not to mention such a goofy personality. And also seems to be quite smart. She will do most anything for a treat. Maybe that is why she is a little hubba chubba. Oh well, as long as she is healthy, she is fine. She is much more snuggly with a bit of meat on her bones.
