They have seen a vet and been given some treatments. It was unclear what caused the initial problem, they referred tacitly to some trauma. But then also talked about antifungals, fish oil, sleeping meds, and other random things they have tried. I asked a few questions and tried to share what I knew but you could tell they had done more than they could afford and were trying anything they could think of. I was just upset, too, that the lady had petted by little girl before any conversation of this dog's condition and I have no idea of the cause or contagiousness. They will, I am sure, continue to try to figure out if there is more they can do. But I will not expose my dog anymore to the situation.
