 Horrifying skin issue
My little yorkie girl and I were out for a walk. A woman came down off her porch and greeted us, told us she has a yorkie too. She began to describe hair loss and I shared a lot of the info from the forum with her. She then went and got her little dog. It was horrifying. ALL of the skin from the front legs back to the tail was black and bald. The skin looked like an armadillo. The rest of the hair was wiry and the eyes looked unhealthy. They described their vet experience, obviously lacking, and what they had tried. I was speechless.
Oh, my! She had petted my dog. I came right home and bathed my little girl in case anything had been petted on to her. It was the worst, most horrifying skin problem I had ever seen and now I'm hoping not to lose sleep over fear of contagiousness.
I appreciate our vet, the YT forum, and our ability to get good care for our pup even more than before. |
