My dog doesn't lick the furniture. HOWEVER, if I had that issue, I'd use an oil like olive oil that is definitely nontoxic and mix in a product that is used to keep dogs from licking, such as bitter apple dog spray. You can google the use of olive oil as a furniture polish, as well as the bitter apple dog spray. I'd test it first to make sure (1) that your dog still doesn't want to lick it, and (2) that it doesn't strip the finish off your furniture.
