Showing and breeding Both showing and breeding Yorkies or doing both - are wonderful hobbies that many people have and enjoy.
I can't believe many of the posts that I have been reading lately. I think it is extremely rude and inconsiderate to put anyone down who enjoys breeding or showing these wonderful little dogs.
Most of us do neither. We just have wonderful little pets that we love. No one - no breeder or shower has ever questioned the value of our dogs or failed to realize what they mean to us. I have always enjoyed visiting with those of you who breed and/or show your dogs on this forum. Personally, if I were younger and had the time, I would enjoy doing that also.
I have followed many criticisms lately, and it is actually only a handful of you that are doing most of it. My post may not even make it to "air time," but I think several of you have a real "chip on your shoulder," and are doing a lot more talking and complaining (over and over and over again about the same exact subject) than you are listening or learning. (Shouldn't even mention this, but have noticed also that several of you are relatively new here on YT.)
There are many good reasons to take pride and be particular about breeding and so many benefits to be gained from the dog shows that most of us enjoy so much.
I can't understand why some of you (who only have a pet Yorkie as I do) are so critical of people who enjoy and take pride in breeding and showing their dogs. I certainly do not feel that those of you who breed and show should have to justify yourselves or your motives in any way. I, personally, am glad that you are doing what you are doing for this wonderful little breed ----as many others throughout the world are doing for other breeds as well.
Please - I don't need any of you who are criticizing those who show their dogs to come back and give me your opinions one more time. I have heard them over and over again! You'll get no response from me!
This forum is for people who love Yorkies and want to share information and experiences.....not for people who want to criticize others or question other peoples' motives for doing what they love to do.
I certainly can accept differences of opinion - and think they make our forum more interesting, but I think acceptance sometimes means letting things settle and be as they are. I personally have learned from many of you who have disagreed with me.
I am not going to read any threads about "breeding and showing dogs" for a long time. Let's all be thankful that the majority of people here are still going on about their business - and sharing some of their wonderful Yorkie experiences with us - and asking one another questions and learning ways that we can all have more fun with and enjoy our Yorkies even more.
