I also have sprinkled kibble, or chicken etc. in front of the food bowl. For some reason they seem to want to try it. Sometimes they just don't get the idea of eating out of a bowl, although the do lap up milk out of a bowl. Go figure.
I never have had food in their mouth work.. have you ever tried to give meds in food. They immediately know something is going on. Lol

LOL I have two who are like that...I still put it in food, but put it in a regular meal so they don't know there is something "different". One of my fosters, Charlie, was so bad with this and was a little bear if you tried to put it in his mouth....so, when he got out of ICU and needed meds 3x/day I was feeding him 3 times. I have not been able to drop him to 2 meals...he stands and barks incessantly until he gets that third meal. He is a total character!
