I have currently taken in 2 Yorkies that were going to be going to a shelter. Best thing I have done. The older one is a dear old man at this point, he was almost 3 years younger when I got him at age 9. He is a treasure of course. The newest one is 7 and has seizure's but she is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. They fit in well with the yorkie mix puppy I was given who is my trick dog. People even ask me if the mix and the newest parti Yorkie are siblings because they look so much alike!

I am so glad I have taken in the 2 I did as I was told with both that they would be going to a shelter and I just couldn't see that happening. The first one was easy as we only had 1 other dog in the house. The 2nd one was a harder decision because we had 3 dogs already and she has seizure's. However, my husband and I discussed it and prayed about it and we felt that we could offer her so much in life so we did it. She is a doll. Well behaved and loving and even house broken too.

I know not everyone has the opportunity to get a dog right before it is sent to a shelter but I had that chance twice and I am glad I took them in as they bring me such joy.

I think it is great that people volunteer at a shelter. I wish I had more time to do that. I would want to take home every dog though!
