Default Symmetric Lupoid Onychodystrophy(SLO)

I haven't posted for a long long time.

Pao is now 11 years old and had a history of pancreatitis but in the last year he has SLO. I don't think it happens very often with Yorkies and it is a very rare disease. It is a form of lupus that attacks the nails. Basically their nails slough/splits/falls off exposing the quicks and is very painful for the dog.

If you see your dog's nails doing that and you keep finding pieces of black nail on your floor periodically, it might be SLO. It took us a while to realize that and get him the help he needed but it is never a 100% cure and will flare up whenever.

So basically just to put this out there.
