Yes they gave me Royal Canin in the can and Hills kibbles, all fat free. She is not too fond of the food and it smells awful 🤧, but if that is what keeps her healthy we will do it. I rarely ever gave her people food - maybe a little bit of cheese and some lowfat cottage cheese but no other people food.
I sneak a tiny little bit of ground up chicken in it and she goes for that smell!
Actually her lab work was great so we are taking it this way for a while. I see her energy building back up each weak. Haven't gone back to agility yet but she has used the teeter a couple times in the back yard, on her own, so she seems interested in it.
Of course, I am interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced this. Since her labs were back to normal I asked if she could go back on her old food and the vet said probably not - once they have a bout they are usually on the special diet for life. We can live with that !!!
