| Adult dog housebreaking troubles.... Hello everyone,
This is my very first post here....forgive me if I goof up!
My husband and I just welcomed a beautiful Biewer boy into our lives. We are over the moon to have him. He is 2 years old, will be 3 in November. He was just neutered 2 weeks ago. His breeder (who was re-homing him for one of her clients who never really had enough time in her life to spend with him) mentioned that he may have a bit of trouble with "marking". Well....it almost seems as though this little guy was never housetrained in his life. If we take him outside, he just looks at us adoringly and then, after we try all the advice we have read online...the "hurry" happy talk, all that....he still tries to get inside and proceeds to mark the sofa, a chair, anything....We have never had this problem with any dog in our home and we realize that he won't be a welcome visitor anywhere with this "little" situation going on. He also will have poop accidents if we don't pick him up and run with him right after he eats... He is a timid boy...so we try never to raise our voices, but he does know very well when he's done something wrong and/or right. I've gone on too long here...sorry! Has anyone else had to deal with an adult male doing this? Thanks for any advice. |
