Thanks all. I called the vets office again to get some ideas and one of the techs told me there is no reason to get it into that cheek pocket -- "just squirt it in his mouth" -- which makes the whole process much easier. BTW, the scruff and ear hold helped a lot even with two of us, so thanks for that.
