I can't afford it, so I feel like a bad mama, I am doing the best I can with her, I do put coconut oil on her and a onsie and let it soak in and it does help, I bathe her in the special shampoo as directed but it is still there. I think I really need a doggie dermatologist for her. Everytime I go to this vet, no matter what, my bill is always over $125.00. I just got her 1 year shots and my bill was $189.00 that included the flu shot because the doggie flu was going around down here in Florida. I didn't want to take a chance, that was $50.00 itself. So, since she is so small, barely 6lbs, we have to go back in in two more weeks for the rest of the shots and the booster for the flu shot and pay another $100.00. I tell ya, I can't win. I know having pets are expensive, I have always had them, but I do feel like I am being taken. Sorry for the rant....I just need to know about the dry spot on your baby. Thanks for listening. I also have a tiny girl with a hotspot on her lower back. My vet told me it was called a scale caused by poor nutrition. He suggested I bath her in an oatmeal bath so I use Earthbath Oatmeal & Aloe Fragrance Free shampoo & rinse. That was 2 months ago and I bath her every Sunday. I think it's helping because she's growing new hairs on that spot that are about 1 inch long now. I also change up to a pretty shampoo, every 3 wks, called Yorkie Splash, it smells nice but I think I have to stick with the oatmeal because I have noticed she tends to scratch during the wk I use the Yorkie Splash, maybe an allergic reaction. But I will continue to monitor this reaction to be sure. It seems to be a good product, very creamy and lightly scented. Anyway, the scale... it has gotten smaller in area, like I said, with new hair growth. I love my vet.
