Never spray a dog with water for vomiting, all it will do is instill fear in the dog and cause confusion. If you do not want carpeting soiled gate it off so the dogs cannot get in that room. |
I guess I was at fault for letting them play in the living room-- even though I was right there sitting on the couch watching them closely. The moment I went and cleaned up the vomit, she puked in the other area and that's when maggie decided it was a great idea to start eating sashas vomit.
Why any living-- organic being would think it's a good idea to eat vomit is beyond me(I wouldn't eat food if it fell on the ground-- much less if someone puked it out but I guess thats just a human thing too). But I guess its a dog thing.
I guess I sometimes give them too much credit for being smart. Like sometimes I see them do things that I feel take some critical thinking skills and I start thinking they're as smart as a 5 year old. That is where my error comes in. I really shouldn't compare the two.
I was mostly mad that day because I was worried about her, and her giving my other dog some illness. That and I don't really know how to clean that carpet well without you know ruining it... As it's one of those persian /arabian carpets... I don't really care much about the carpet itself but I didn't want to upset who the carpet belonged to.
I will have to find a way to retrain sasha because while the vomit was unpreventable. She did poop inside--days after the diahrea incident.
