Welcome to YT. I have raised 4 yorkies while living in the city (NYC) at age of 8 weeks old all now passed and held down a full time job. I see no problem with you having a puppy and working. You have many options. As puppies they were confined to a small area with pads, water, food, bed and toys until they were 100 % pad trained, then they had free roam of the apartment.
