Thinking about getting a yorkie (city-life) Hey Guys,
I've owned dogs my whole life, but my situation has changed a bit lately since I've moved to the city and I've never owned a smaller dog. My last dog was a small-sih Husky and he caused no problems, but I worked a night-shift. I am thinking about getting a 3-4 month old Yorkie. I've been looking for something older, but it is a little tough.
I currently work around 8 hours a day and live about 20 minutes walk from work. I work from home once or a twice a week and have very flexible lunch breaks and time off.
I have very few other obligations and lots of time off I can take. There is a daycare across the street and many options for dog walkers, but those wouldn't be options till he had all of his shots and was full grown. Have any of you had experience with raising a Yorkie in such a scenario? The first few months are what concerns me the most. I would be able to take a week or so off, but would not be able to take a few months off. |
