I agree. I have heard that you should never rub their nose in it, b/c they don't understand why you are doing that. Also, yelling at them doesn't work either. You have to be patient and loving and encouraging. When he pees on the carpet, pick him up and take him to the pad. Try and get a little of the urine smell on the pad, so he can associate the pad with peeing. Good luck and please be more patient and encouraging with your pup. You don't want him to become scared of you.
