 New baby eating problem
My new baby, Elvis, was bought from a kennel owner I found online. I found no complaints against her so felt okay with getting a baby. Elvis is 9 weeks old and when I ws leaving with him the seller told me he might need a little help learning to drink so I thought he had likely been on a hanging bottle. Ive raised many puppies and never had problems but this little guy does NOT know how to eat. He doesnt know how eat soft food as if he was never weaned and has never seen actual food before. He doesnt know how to lap up water so it has been an eyedropper to get liquids in him. She told me he eats Royal Canin softened with water and a little soft food. He doesnt know what it is and I have to actually put it in his mouth. Today I got some puppy formula and gave him some in the dropper and he loved it but still is having problems learning to lap. I mixed some ground turkey with the formula and he finally put his tongue out for it. I dont feel comfortable contacting the seller because Im not sure I would get the truth. Does anybody else think I got a lazy seller who just left the puppies on the teat? |
