Toni took Max today and she taped the whole conversation with the vet on her phone so I could hear it. His ALT which was originally 832, then dropped to 502 after 24 hours of IV is now at 272. Still high but showing big improvements. The emergency vet had told us that his pancreas tested normal but our vet said there were a couple of numbers she wanted to look at besides what the 1st vet did. As she put it "yorkies are the poster child for pancreatitis". In addition to what the emergency vet tested (I forgot what that one was) she tested the AMYL and LIPA. His AMYL came in at 546 (norm 500-1500) and his LIPA came in at 1333 (norm 200-1800). She said he is not quite out of the woods yet but he is "very near the edge of the woods." We go back for what will hopefully be the final blood test in 2 weeks.
