The first part of his poop looked dark but not a concerning type of dark. The rest of his poop is light brown. Is that normal? His pee was normal as always.
My brother brought straight up broth. I eyeballed it and only put a little in because of the amount of sodium. This got him to drink water a little bit. But I'm so sorry, when I said he was dehydrated, he just wasn't drinking enough water. He was panting for half the day, and he was drinking water and eating and such, just not enough. But the broth did help. My brother also tried to find nutri cal at petsmart. He couldn't find the exact brand but he bought an off brand one which hopefully works. It's the GNC Ultra Mega High Calorie Booster for dogs. I let him lick a few dabs off my finger last night.
Mickey is really everyone's baby. My mom is his favorite and I'm a close second. She's very busy with unpacking everything and getting everything situated in the new house, so it's me and my brother trying to help him
I feel like if he continues with the loose stool the next time he poops I'm gonna ask my mom to take him to the vet.. if not my brother and I will go.
I'm under 18 but I've got a license and I'm not allowed to drive that far just yet, but trust me I would have already taken him to the vet if I could. This is just such a mess
He hasn't ate much yet this morning, probably because he had a little too much to eat last night for dinner. Would that explain the light brown colored poop?
Thank you everyone for your help. It's nice to talk to people who care just as much as I do. |
Canned broth is an absolute no no, too much salt in it. Just a package of chic thighs would do, your folks can make chic salad and Mickey can have the broth, just do not add any seasoning to the water when you boil the chic. You can freeze the rest of the broth in ice cube trays and just drop a frozen cube in his water. I understand how hectic things must be with mom trying to get everything away, all the commotion, Mickey can be picking up on this and is getting stresses out.
Poop should be a med. golden brown depending on what kind of kibble he eats, the darker the kibble, the darker the poop.
I would measure out Mickey's water to see how much he drinks in a day. Use a measuring cup, give 1/2 a cup of water, when you give fresh water measure what is left in his bowl, this way you can see how much water he drank, this is important to know "if" you have to take him to the vet.
It could be all this excitement going on. I read in another thread of yours Mickey was staying somewhere else for a few days while you were packing and moving. So he went from his house to someone else, then came to the new house with all this hustle and bustle going on, then you are stressed out over Mickey and he feeds off everyone's emotions. Try to stay calm for Mickey's sake. I know if you could, you would take Mickey to the vet, mom knows Mickey very well, I am sure if she thought he was in danger she would take him to the vet.
