We're thinking of neutering our male puppy at about 8 months (in Sept or so), as he was small when we got him (and is still only less than four pounds). We also wanted to avoid the summer temperatures. He's already responding to females in heat by clamoring at the door, which is so sad to watch. We spoke with our vet in determining the age and time of year.
