Try slippery elm instead, mix it in water, tastes like a light herbal tea. Great for people too!

It seems things change like that all the time so you have to weigh the pros and cons. I prefer pumpkin so I will still use it. My vet and trainer who is a certified vet assistant recommends pumpkin. I haven't seen any articles saying it's bad just ones saying how good it is.
