It helps to have someone in the back seat with her when training for them to get used to them. If they have a good harness on that dosent put any pressure on the trachea then they can't actually hang themselves thankfully. I have one who jumps out every time we get where we are going. I don't know what type you have but we have the snoozer and I would also take it inside to try and get them used to it.
