I agree that it's best to stay on the same food for a few months and then slowly transition to a new food. Royal Canin is good and has a small kibble size. If you have to go grain free (which might not be necessary), we've used Wellness, and our dog loves it. (She also loved Royal Canin.) Do NOT use Blue Buffalo. We've had bad personal experiences with their quality control.
