Good example is the whole Diamond pet food fiasco...w/ Blue Buffalo & the recent scandal w/ Evanger's pet food. They tout it's 'human grade' when they recently found pentobarbital in some of their canned food. |
Sadly, this is generally true. The company might have high standards, but sometimes they get a bad supplier. Pentobarbitol might be coming from euthanized horses. Probably not in a large enough quantity to harm the dog, but it's a sign of sloppy ingredient sourcing. I'm glad that regulatory agencies are testing for things like this. We need more of this (testing).
