Took her to a new vet. What a difference! The last place we went to, it was a constant sales pitch.

This new vet was great. He said her vitals were good, she's happy, acting normal, temperature ok, heartrate ok. We didn't have a stool sample because I'd put her on a bland diet. Anyway, after we brought her back from the vet, she pooped and it looked soft, but more normal. No blood, normal color. We collected it and went back to the vet to test her normal looking poop. But that's ok. Better safe than sorry. Although I didn't have a sample of the bloody poop, I told the vet I'd taken a picture (I know, gross, but I thought I might need it for the vet), and he took a look at it and was able to tell where it was coming from.

I don't feel out of the woods yet, because yesterday morning, she had a semi normal poop right before a bloody one, but the vet said he thinks it was just a reaction to something she ate and she should be ok. He prescribed Metronidazole and some probiotics, and told me to continue the bland diet I'd been giving her. The internet recipe I found had 25% protein to rice, but he said 50%, so I'll add some more boiled skinless chicken breast. She loves it. I hand fed her, not because she's spoiled, but because she was so hungry, I was afraid she'd choke on it the way she wanted to scarf it down so fast. I have met other yorkie owners who say their dog never eats, but mine is a little piglet and loves to eat everything! That's how we got in this predicament.
