Anyone experienced a situation like this?

We have purchased 2 dogs (a mini dachshund and our yorkie) over the years from breeders and never experienced a situation like this. I would recommend that you follow the procedures you would normally follow. First, check out the breeder, breeding history, the parents of this pup. See what AKC has to offer in that regard. Ask for references. Then when the puppy is old enough treat the process as if you are choosing.....health, temperament, breed standards that matter to you. Spend time with the parents. Spend time with the puppy. And decide if it is a good match. It's an important and emotional process so you want to make sure that this is the right companion for you. The hardest decision will be if you have to walk away and start looking for your puppy all over again. I wish you the best.
