My Casie was about 4lbs when she was 7 months and that's exactly when I took her to get spayed. I was worried because she was so small..but everything worked out. They removed all her retained baby teeth and she was a very good girl during recovery.

Best thing to do is get her spayed before the first heat for preventing pregnancies and for the simplest spay surgery. It has the least amount of risks. My vet told me that after the first heat, their blood vessels enlarge and then the surgery sometimes takes longer to complete.
