Donna, when Rocky barks at you like that, a trainer told me that is a "YO, MOMMA!" bark and not a good thing. I thought it was cute when Higgins did it. But she was right -- it's a sign that they are bossing you around and you need to make it clear that YOU are the Alpha Dog in the pack. So, if Higgins gives me the Yo Momma Bark, I scowl and tell him I won't cooperate. He IMMEDIATELY switches to a sweet little whine and a beggar's sit up! And THEN I usually give him what he wants IF it is convenient. If it isn't convenient, I tell him "Not right now. Go ask Daddy." And he trots right out in search of Don. HA!
