My 7 month old male Yorkie holds it all night, from 10 pm to 6 am.
He is neutered and has no health problems. The frequent peeing makes me crazy. I take him out on the leash, tell him" hurry up" he pees on command, gets lots of praise, NO treats, comes in the house, and pees some more. He is so fast that sometimes I don't even see him doing it even when I keep him on the leash. Now I put him immediately in his crate when he comes in. I really hate to do that because my two other dogs (dachshund and Irish terrier) enjoy the run of the house. I am retired so I am home all day to take all of them out in my large yard. I hear from other Yorkie owners that some of them NEVER get completely housebroken. I am just about ready to give him up and surrender him to to Yorkie rescue.
Is there anything else I can do? I would very much like to keep him, but this is getting to be a big problem. |
