Don't fret. Eddie went through the same thing, and he slowly but surely became more affectionate. By 1 year, he was a little love bug.

As for getting excited when you get home, you may be doing this already, but make your coming home a big event in her life. Walk in the door with an animated voice and give hugs and kisses. Then take a few minutes out to play with her favorite toy. Once she gets used to that, she'll be yapping at the window every time you come home.

Sometimes it takes a little time, too, if they have been sleeping all day. I'm not exactly wagging my tail when I wake up from a long nap either.
