I've been feeding Fabian a bit of toothpaste gel on my finger since the day I brought him home from the breeder (just before Easter at 13 weeks). I also ran my finger around his mouth at other times of the day just to get him used to the feel of me poking around in his mouth (not fun for me since he's teething!) We just transitioned to the rubber finger toothbrush about a week and a half ago and use it every day. The bristles are so rubbery that I really can't tell if it's doing anything productive, but his breath smells great! We hope to move to the three-sided toothbrush once he has his bog boy teeth.
He gnaws on bully sticks incessantly to cope with teething and it seems to be keeping his teeth clean as a bonus. |
