I talked to them and it is a program they have started to try to crack down on the breeders. It is not required that you apply for the program, but you get benefits if you do and are accepted. (Free magazines, references, acknowledgement, the PCP seal shows up on reg papers and pedigrees, etc.) There is a list a mile long of information you have to send to them in order to be accepted. References, pictures of breeding facitlities, permission for any-time inspections, copies of contracts, vet records, DNA testing, etc.
I think it's a good idea. I mean, if you are looking for a quality breeder and you have 2 to compare, one who you know had to prove they'd done this list of things and one who didn't..who are you going to choose? |
