With many yorkies being so small, i say the risk is too great to spay/neuter at a young age, it's an elective surgery anyway you slice it. One of my pups came from a litter that collectively did not respond well to vaccinations, I could only imagine how he might have have fared with anesthesia. I was not going to risk it. Wait till they are full grown and developed at 18 months to 2 years, it's not hard to keep a little yorkie from getting pregnant, most are kept in a house anyways and they only go into heat a few times a year.
