I had two girls (now passed) that were kept in full coat in the summer, it didn't seem to bother them and one was a swimmer, could not keep that girl out of the water, so maintenance on her was high, her hair was kept an inch off the ground. The other full coat girl maintenance was a bit more then winter, her coat was not very long but she picked up grass and what not. They both would bask in the sun on the hottest day, I would have to force them to stay in shaded areas, I was a camper at this time.
