Chewie went today, and she went to sniff and I went no no !! which really upset her, but yeah, I'm with you on that, she'll not be sniffing anything either.
My husband insisted that our vet- not the one that saw her yesterday- be called. So I did, to ask about signs of the infestations lessening so capstar could be given as a last resort. Well, the doctor read the report, and then she dismissed everything and said, just tell Jenn that it sin't internal, they crawled on it and laid eggs later, so just keep the "area" around her pad cleaned. First of all, my floor is very clean, so that wasn't something that happened. I said, excuse me, but the report says INTERNAL and it IS in her GI tract. the doc filling in was given a FRESH sample and it wasn't even a little bit dried, it was literally scooped up and put in the ziplock bag immediately. To make matters even worse, one popped out from the rectal temp-it's why they gave the rectal exam! I'm just frustrated because our doc is a great Doc, but a cursory examination of the report isn't going to tell her anything, and it's clear that's what she did. However, our take home literature and dx was clear about the internal. I know it's just because she wasn't there ,but dang, I just wanted to have my question answered and move on!
but, because I knew that this was something that most vets haven't' seen in dogs, I took a picture last night, since the ones yesterday were in there, but most were a few centimeters in there, only a few were inside. I'm glad I followed my instinct, it was dead, but it was very clear that it was embedded. so, I guess my long rant is, if I am not seeing any in the last three times she went, it's a good sign, right?
