After reading your post yesterday, I've been checking my dogs' poos like crazy !
I immediately asked about you guys. I was in tears at the vet office. I thought that she was contagious from the very first. I was told no, unless that dog ate the same thing. I think she either got it from the costco tomatoes we bought the sunday we got back and saw fruit flies literally 3 days later- we had to set out traps for two days, and the tomatoes were fine on top-it's why we had no clue- OR she got it that same sunday while they were out flying drones, which is more of a possibility- the pigeons in Mesa ARE out of control. If it was the fruit flies I can pinpoint the exact day it happened, Daughter was browning the hamburger we bought for her, and she didn't put it back in the fridge for 15 minutes. It was cold and I sealed it back up. we saw the tomatoes that night when I was cleaning around the fruit basket.

I've found only one in each BM, quite dead, and I gave her a bath (even though she had just had one the night before) and checked her beard, her leg hair, around her bum- nothing. Only thing are those two little pimple/bumps under her chin that the vet has been watching for months. Not one sign of an infection. Dan is furious that the vet hit her up with a shot like that without telling us the risks, but, at the same time, we understand that she HAD to do it. It's quite clear that the possibility of toxemia is a bit higher than the vet was comfortable with, and this is known to kill them.
