Chewie isn't acting sick. Her appetite is fantastic, she's eating and playing normally. She had a rectal exam today, hit up with heartworm medicine- injection- given an oral antibiotic to treat parasites, AND tomorrow the capstar I insisted is coming, and we'll be hitting her up with that, too. I thought she had parasites, but the vet confirmed they were maggots, and was trying to tell me at first that her bm was sitting out- which I said, no, it wasn't- she pooped on her pad in FRONT of me, and I picked it right up. I put all of her cloth toys in the front loader, threw out her old pillow that we were replacing, and am currently washing all over her bedding as well. I threw out every single treat she had, her lamb ears that were out- from last night- her new batch of sojos and replaced it, and confirmed with her second BM today that they were dead. I'm in shock, and the vet was trying to tell me for almost 45 minutes how I was mistaken, then came in and apologized saying it could happen, that she ate something contaminated. NO signs of rectal infection. Intestinal infection would show symptoms, but they gave her a blood test to confirm. No infections on the skin. IF the rectal temp hadn't had another one come out, I wouldn't have been believed at all. Carpet steamer is coming tomorrow instead of next week. I'm guessing not one of you guys have seen this, so I'm just venting. I am in SHOCK. it happened in the last two days. Even her hamburger we bought was tossed. Treats, too. Replaced everything. .
