Default Second hand smoke

Today is a sad day in my life, I have lost my precious little dog (a Yorkie named Muffin), she died this morning at 6:30am. I sat here and watched her take her last breath. It's a terrible and heart wrenching thing to witness a one that you love with all your heart and soul die. She gave us (myself and my wife) her total commitment to love and companionship, we loved her with every fiber in our souls, and now she's gone. We have cried our eyes out for two days watching her decline to the point where she just didn't have the energy to take another breath. We've had her for 12 years.

This little dog has died prematurely, because we smoke, the little dog died from second hand smoke. I've always laughed about people being affected by second hand smoke, my parents smoked, I smoked with my son around, never saw any problems with second hand smoke with people, but apparently with little dogs it does, and therefore the possibility exists that indeed it can influence people too., but, I can definitely say that our little dog was indeed affected and died because of it. Way back, she developed a cough, nothing serious, just a cough, similar to the one the wife and I have, then she got worse, then, even worse, eventually, in the last few months, she hacked and hacked continually, but she was always energetic and ready to follow me everywhere I went, play and do anything.
Then, in the last couple of days she stopped hacking, and with that, became totally out of energy/breath, she was laboring to breathe, short breaths but had no more energy to get up and about, only enough energy to lay from one place or another, she didn't have the energy to eat, nor go outside to use the bathroom. I have sat here the last couple of days watching her go through an irreversible decline to the point where her little body just gave out and gave up. We are terribly destroyed at losing our beloved little companion. I buried her this morning.
