Sneezes & Coughs I enjoyed reading the posts - old and new. Our 2.5 year old yorkie would make all sorts of noise when she was very young and it freaked us out. Sometimes we would pick her up and pat her to reverse the air flow. As she outgrew this she didn't outgrow having learned it got our attention. So, now when she's wanting attention or to play she turns on the hack. If we are outside and she's been running hard she'll still have an occasional sneezy/wheezy deal but since it resolves quickly and her vet checks are good we don't worry at all.
Our little girl does not wear a collar. We can't secure it tight enough to not create a different hazard. So her tags are on her puppia harness which she sometimes has to wear for extended periods if we are out and about. She is chipped (although we are assessing if she's got a skin problem related to the chip) but we've heard nightmare stories about different chip readers failing and not finding the info so we don't count on that. If we absolutely have to put a collar on we use a cat breakaway collar for the brief occasion. |
