Tatum (my Yorkie) is only 2 years old so we don't have that problem but I've posted before that my toy poodle, Dax, had to have quite a few pulled during his lifetime. When he passed away at 15 years old, he had exactly FOUR teeth left. I don't think he ever knew the difference!
Our problem was caused by the fact that he only ate canned food (and of course the toy breed's tendency to have teeth issues). Up until he was two years old, we lived next door to my grandparents and my grandpa watched him during the day. Hard as I tried, I just could not get him to understand the importance of hard dog food for this baby. He got Dax spoiled on the canned food (that's what he fed his own poodle) and I never could get him back on dry food. His teeth started going bad pretty early on and only one here and there had to be pulled in the beginning. But he developed heart problems at a later age and so any time he had a bad tooth, it had to be pulled right away to keep the infection from affecting his heart.
My vet told me when I was really concerned about Dax being able to eat without those teeth that he has actually seen dogs with no teeth still eat dry kibble. They have very strong jaw bones. I don't know how many your Daisy will have left so I can't guess how it will affect her eating and chewing but there's my experience. Hope it helps some!
