Thanks for the info, for apparently a grade 3 murmur is not that bad (in his eyes) to even consider additional tests at this time (xray, blood work) let alone go straight to meds.

I have heard great things about CO-Q10 (ubiquinol) for dogs with murmur's or heart issues. Dr. Becker even has a video on it and I have ordered some through Amazon..also mentioning this to my vet to see what he thinks. Here is the video:
