I am throwing the rest out, will she be ok? I got her some actual bone... a rib bone from walmart with pieces of jerky still on it.
She's been gnawing at it. Later on I will wipe down her mouth area. She's been so into it. So I guess it is raw...
Is there a way to disinfect them/clean them? She won't be able to break it. |
Just keep an eye out and make sure she is still pooing regularly and not acting weird. When raw meet is room temperature it grows bacteria so that is something to keep in mind. Dogs can get salmonella. Any bones that are long lasting have the possibility of being to hard for teeth and possibility of growing bacteria. I don't really give long lasting chews any more. I use edible nylabones and they last a good 20 minutes or so. Raw just has so many issues in my opinion. It can get on their paws and spread that way too.
