Sucralfate is used to treat ulcers. We can't diagnose your Yorkie, but I would call the vet and tell him about the additional symptoms and ask him for more details about the diagnosis. Low protein, vomiting, and the possibility of ulcers has me thinking that your vet might be thinking about Protein Losing Enteropathy (PLE), which is a very serious condition. Definitely talk with your vet, and if you don't think the vet is doing a good job of explaining things to you and treating your Yorkie, see another vet and get a second opinion.
