So as some of you know my mom was put into the Behavioral Health Ward of the hospital near the house. This was last Tues. needless to say I didn't get much sleep maybe 4 hrs max. I went to work Wed. cause I didn't want to use a sick day, don't have many. I was sleepy but did my work that I was suppose to do and went to the meetings I was suppose to go to. On Thurs I came to work still not great but doing better. I was walking into my office, my one boss says we are having a meeting in 3 mins. I didn't say anything because he was looking at and talking to another person. Amy(my office mate) and I didn't know if we were suppose to go or not and our boss had disappeared. So we waited, we heard our bosses voice tell one of the guys to get so and so and so and so but didn't hear our names so we thought ok, doesn't involve us. Well about 20mins later my phone rings and it is my other boss (he has no spine and hates confrontation) he tells me to come to his office. Stupid me thought it was to talk about a case I am working on. I was sooo wrong. I get there both my bosses are there, they close the door and tell me to sit where they can see me. My other boss starts yelling and asks if I thought I was exempt from the meeting I explained I didn't know I was suppose to be at it. Then I'm told I need to not waste my leave time and take days off just because. I told them I don't and that the only time I take off is when I'm sick or need the day off. Umm, remember I had my appendix out in Oct and wasn't at work for 3 weeks.

My boss goes I know you're having family issues, and you work is suffering(it had been one day and I had done all my work) I said well my mom's in the hospital, he starts asking where I say Orange Park, he goes no what floor I wasn't going to answer but he kept pushing so I said if you must know the mental health ward and started crying. My other boss brings out tissues like they had planed to have some entertainment for the day and I was it. The other boss starts saying well I have experience in this and tells me what drugs my mom needs and then starts saying that my dad and I didn't try hard enough to get mom in to see Drs. and that if my mom wanted to killer herself it was for attention and wouldn't have tried. He was saying stay away from Prozac it will cause you to get worse, I had had it at this point and said well that's odd I've been on it for 10yrs and I'm fine.

He then told me to forget about mom and let my dad deal with it that I should distance myself and focus on work. He finishes by saying that's it. I leave and go back to the office shocked. Amy was to. I still get so angry by their reactions. I called me dad and told him what went on and he told me I needed to file a grievance not only for that but I have been passed over for promotions, I am still a level one and been working here 2 almost 3 yrs, Some girl who has been working here for a year, got promoted from level 1 to 2 in 6 months of working here. I have had nothing but 5 out of 5 on my reviews.

I know fileing a grievance will make life worse than it is now but I don't think they should be allowed to treat people this way, it is a State Agency for petesakes!!
