My vet suggested taking a little piece of nylon like from old pantyhose and rubbing it gently along their gums and teeth. He said when they get a bit older he might suggest a toothpaste of some sort, but that should be enough to get them used to it. And Tank loves my fingers in his mouth...well when he can chew on them that is
