I use Tagalong Pet Booster seat gotten at Pet Supplies. It's suspended off the passenger seat so the air bag will not deploy if in an accident. It has a short leash attached to the booster seat that clips onto the dogs harness that would keep the dog from being propelled from car. There's a strap that goes over the head rest, another strap that goes around the seat that holds the booster seat in place. Height of seat can be adjusted. I suggest doggie goggles for a convertible to keep debris from getting in dogs eyes. Years back I had a convertible and 3 yorkies, I found this to be an issue.
