I was thinking of getting her a few bully sticks- are they actually 100% safe for them? Does it pose any choking hazard? What do you even do when a dog is choking? is there a Heimlich maneuver for dogs?
First, you should probably read/save/print all of these threads. And, btw local Red Crosses will often have Dog First Aid/CPR courses....

Bully sticks can be nice treats - but they can stink horrendously too, OMG. Just depends on brand.

I like the following for chewing: RMBs, CET Chews, Beams by Honest Kitchen, Munchy Stix, Naked chews, Kongs.

As far as training treats - yeah, fruits and veg are not going to be considered "high value" treats by most dogs. You want something very high value....cheerios (ie, honey nut), cheese, small training treats.
