Before you start her on heart-worm medication she will need blood test done, you will need to go to your vet for this. Even if the pup has been on heart-worm preventive all year a blood test must be done before restarting the next 12 month prevention med.
A yearly physical is also something that should be done. My now passed girl was diagnosed with Pancreatitis on a yearly physical, so it's important every year they are taken for yearly physical.
